Nan Noble House was originally called House of Chao Fongkham. Another of Nan's gems for history & culture lovers is to be found at this 150 years old teak-wooden house. It was originally build in the area where is now the army HQ and about 100 years ago it was moved to its current location. Children of the Fongkham family are still living at the house, and they openend their house as small museum and show-case of the memories of noble families of Nan. Under the house is a small souvenir shop with traditional cloths and silverware that is made in a small workshop nearby. And there are always a few old ladies showing how the traditional cloths are made (very limited English). For more information see Nan Noble House.
You can visit Nan Noble House all year around, daily except Wednesday, from 9:00 - 15:00. Entrance is free but your donation is appreciated. Nan Noble House is at the outskirts of the Historical Center of Nan town, in a small soi of Sumon Thewarat street. Be aware that there is also Nan Noble Resort but that is outside Nan town.
