There are markets everywhere in Thailand, also along the highway between Lampang and Chiang Mai. Just before Lamphun is on the left side this so called Jungle Market. Not always animal friendly but they sell everything Northern Thai people eat, from herbs and vegetables to mushrooms and animals. The local name of this market is Doi Kaeo Market of Baan Doi Kaeo Market. Doi means mountain in Thai and indeed this market is on the foot of a mountain. Following are some more photos I made.
