Visiting the Wat Phuket Songthaya in Pua

Commonly called just Wat Phuket, not so much impressive as temple but more famous for its great view overlooking the rice-fields and the mountains of Doi Phu Kha National Park in the back-ground. And if you are into meditation then this might also be a good place to go. Opposite of the temple entrance is an Buddhist school where young people learn to become a novice and monk. When you are in Pua anyway, a must place to visit! The name of the temple is not related to the island Phuket in South Thailand. Phu means hill and next to the temple is a village called Ban Ket. So it is the temple on the hill of Ban Ket. For more information about Nan province have a look at Destination Travel Guide Nan.
