Motorbike Riding in Thailand from Dan Sai to Pua in Nan province

I was considering taking the ferry route back to Nan but due to geographical location and a mountain range that would a long way around. So from Dan Sai I did first ride to Na Heao and made a sight-seeing stop at the Wat Pho Chai where you find beautiful old murals. I have been there a few times already, see also a older photos at Murals at the Wat Pho Chai. And in Na Heao I had again a lovely breakfast (from the 7-11) while watching small village border-life.

After breakfast I took route 1268 passing again Ban Rom Klao and I made again a pit-stop at Namtok Phu Soi Doi. There were many people preparing for a 6.5km hiking into the mountains. And as they were planning to stay overnight camping, they all had big backpacks with them. But the lazy one’s did hire someone to carry everything. What a tough job!

I continued the curvy roads to Doi Sammer Dao where the camping guests from last night had already left and a new load of guests were putting down their tent and other stuff. After a relax drink and chat with some other motorbikers I did ride down to Na Noi and had a lovely lunch at my favourite restaurant in town. I had planned to stay overnight in Na Noi but as it was still early I did bite the bullet and did ride to Wiang Sa, Nan, Tha Wang Pha and finally Home Sweet Home in Pua.
