The Wai Phra That are festivals paying respect to the important "phra thats" temples and are being held all over Thailand. The tradition is to make merit, offer food & fruit to the monks and to worship Buddhist relics. In Nan province these festivals are at 4 different temples and at of course 4 different times of the year :
- Namatsakan Phrathat Beng Sakat Festival is being held in January in Pua
- Hok Peng Waisa Mahathat Chae Haen Festival at Wat Phra That Chea Heang is being held in February / March in Nan town Especially for people born in the year of the rabbit.
- Namatsakan Phrathat Khao Noi Festival at Wat Khao Noi is being held in May in Nan town
- Namatsakan Song Nam Phrachao Thongthip Festival at Wat Suan Tan is being held in April together with Thai New Year in Nan town
