In 2018 I was traveling along the Mekong River from Chiang Khan to Nong Khai and I did pass Sangkhom, a little town along the river. There are some restaurants and guesthouses here. A little bit after Sangkhom there is a road going up the small mountains nearby and you end-up about 120m higher at a park area where is also a temple. And at any temple are of course Buddha images. A Buddha a day keeps the doctor away, so there is a Buddha image for each day of the week. From this temple you also have a stunning view over the Mekong River and Laos.
