Train stations in Thailand, next station Huai Saw Phat

Huai Saw Phat train station in Northeast Thailand

In 2017 I was in Huai Saw Phat and made some photos of this lovely old train station. I love traveling by train, especially in Thailand where it is like traveling in time. It is like an open-air museum. Not only the trains itself but also the train stations. They look like they have not changed since they build the first railroad lines in Thailand in 1889. This little train station is Huai Sa Phat along the north-east line Bangkok - Nong Kai and located just under Udon Thani. Many railway stations have lovely small gardens and very well taken care. At the station you will see 2 rail-tracks (see following photos) but about 500m south of this station is an old single-track steel bridge crossing a small river. I was able to go inside the control room and make some photos of how this was 100 years ago.

If you are planning to travel in Thailand and need help with planning then send me a email at The Little Elephant in Thailand.

Update 2021 : This little station is along the line that is being changed to a double-track line, but at 2019 Google Street View still shows the little old station and no construction going on at all. Also on Google Satellite in 2021 there is no sign of construction.
