While on our way to Chiang Mai we did visit the Wat Phra Haripunchai in Lamphun. This is about 20 km south of Chiang Mai city and about 3 km from the highway. It is a 12th century old temple build in different styles. Lamphun itself is a lovely little old town with history and culture. It makes a great day trip from Chiang Mai, or like we did perfect for a stop on your way to Chiang Mai.
