In the insignificant little town of Chiang Kham is hidden a beautiful teak-wooden temple, build in Burmese Shan style. The all temple is decorated with fine wood carvings and in de main building is a huge solid teak-wood Buddha image in Mandalay style. At the backside of the temple is a small kind of museum with old coins, pottery and art. The all temple is build on 68 wooden pillars! Unfortunately it seems unknown when the original temple was build, but the current main building was probably build in 1925 by Tai Yai / Tai Lue people. The temple was originally called "Wat Chong Kha" as a reference to the roof material. Later it was called "Wat Chong Nua" as the temple is build at the northern end of town. The current style temple was build with donations from the Nanta Wonganan family and the temple was renamed "Wat Nantaram". Following are a few more photos of this beautiful piece of art.
