Travel Tips about booking a flight from Thailand to Cambodia

Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia

Thailand is a wonderful and beautiful country to travel but the neighbouring Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia are each for their own culture and way of life also great countries to travel. Traveling from Thailand to Cambodia can be done in a few ways. You can travel over land and cross the border via one of the 6 or more International Border crossings. Or you can travel by air from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport or Don Muang Airport) to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. Actually you can also fly from Phuket to Siem Reap. And with a little bit of  flexibility and searching flying does not have to be expensive. So if you not have much time or do not like to to travel over land have a look at one of the 6 airlines flying from Bangkok to Phnom Penh. Be aware that there are 2 airports in Bangkok. And be aware that you probably will need a visa for Cambodia.
  • Air Asia from Don Muang Airport
  • Bangkok Airways from Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • Thai Airways from Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • Thai Smile from Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • Lanmei Airlines from Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • JC Airlines from Don Muang Airport
Personally I would skip Lanmei Airlines and JC Airlines. But that is just a personally feeling I have when looking to the way their websites are working. And as I fly in to Bangkok at Don Muang Airport I prefer an airline that is also flying from Don Muang Airport. So that leaves Air Asia for me. Although if one of the other airlines would be much cheaper and the flight schedule would be convenient I would just as well fly with one of the other airlines. So for my next trip I will be flying to Don Muang Airport in the morning and then flying to Phnom Penh Airport in the afternoon. So of course in the following weeks you can expect photos from traveling in Cambodia.

Since 10 April 2018 once you arrive at Phnom Penh Airport you can take the train to the city. For more information see Phnom Penh Post : The Airport Train
