August 2019, while traveling 3 weeks in Vietnam and staying 4 days in Hanoi I did stay at the Amadas Hotel in Hanoi. This hotel is located a bit in the north side of town, not in an tourist area but in a real Vietnamese area with a few shops, restaurants and real normal street life of Hanoi. Actually a nice area. The hotel has about 10 floors and each floor has about 5 rooms. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable and clean. And the rooms have everything you need like a private bathroom with shower, air-conditioning, mini-bar and free drinking water. The hotel serves a good breakfast buffet on the rooftop of the hotel. Staff is friendly and service minded. All together a good place to stay. For more information have a look at their website Adamas Hanoi Hotel.
Right next to the hotel is a great Irish Pub for drinks & food (but a bit expensive). Opposite the hotel is a very small Vietnamese Coffee Cafe. Nearby are a KFC, Indian Restaurant and a few small supermarkets. And a few ATM's are left and right of the hotel.
