The raining season might scare many tourists away but during the raining season here in North Thailand it is stunning beautiful in the mountains. And as everything is green I call it the Green Season. It is hardly anytime raining all day or all week. So in the last Green Season we made a "little" trip in the mountains of Doi Phu Kha in Nan province to explore the Sea of Fog (Talay Mok in Thai). Our trip started at
Non Na Pua Boutique Homestay in the valley of Pua. From there we took route 1256 to Bo Klua, passing Lan Du Dao Viewpoint and Doi Phu Kha 1715 Viewpoint. And from Bo Klua back via route 1081, passing the famous #3 in route 1081 and of course the Snake Curve with stunning view over the mountains.
This trip of "only" 120 km, but 80% in the mountains with some steep parts, curves and maximum height of 1715m above sea-level. So it takes a few hours, including a few stops. Photo above is a Thai tourist attraction, the #3 in route 1081 between Bo Klua and Santisuk. Photo under is the Yo River in Pua, coming out of the mountains of Doi Phu Kha.
