In September 2020 we did visit the Kila Chao Tai Phu Khao Festival in Ban Pha Klang, Nan province. Pha Klang is a melting pot of different hill-tribes from the mountains of Doi Phu Kha but most are Hmong or Tai Lue. The village is famous for its home-made silverware and home-made traditional cloths. Of course the festival starts with a parade, but we were too late so we missed that. We watched a part of the running race where young men carry a traditional basket on their back with in it a bag of rice. And then have to run as fast as they can the running track, I think about 1 km. Looks easy but it is bloody hot. Along the track families are supporting their team.
