In the mountains of Doi Phu Kha is along route 1256 (from Pua to Bo Klua) a shrine to honour Chao Luang Phukha, the first ruler of what is now called Nan province. And next to this shrine is the famous Chompoo Phukha tree that blossoms in February. Once a year there is a festival to honour the spirits that protect the tree and to honour the old rulers of the Nan dynasty. There is parking right next to the shrine and there even is a toilet behind the shrine. Most people will come here with their own transport but the public Songtheauw from Pua to Bo Klua is passing this shrine.
