In 2017 we were traveling in Pua and we did stay in the lovely Pawinsin Resort and although the view over the valley of Pua was already great it became even better with incoming rain from the mountains and sunset from behind. Pua is a small town surrounded by beautiful mountains and a great starting point for travelling in this area. There are a few hotels, although I think Pawinsin is the best one (new and clean). South of the town along the main road are some restaurants and pubs for a nice evening to enjoy the cool temperature in the mountains.
Pawinsin Resort is buil as a lovely apartment style hotel on the outskirts of Pua town with a stunning view over the rice fields and the mountains of Doi Phu Kha National Park. Pua is a great gateway to Doi Phu Kha National Park and Bo Klua. Pawinsin Resort opened its doors in 2012 with only 8 rooms, all with a private balcony and air-conditioning. Although there is no restaurant they do serve a nice local style breakfast at their Quan Pawin Coffee Shop. Pawinsin Resort is within walking distance from the main road in Pua town and of course has private parking. This hotel has private parking for cars & motorbikes.
Update : Still a nice hotel and they upgraded with a coffee shop and selling snacks.
