After a long cool season with very cold temperatures (for Thai standards) the hot season started begin March with soaring temperatures of 38℃ in the afternoon and 22℃ in the very early morning. And besides the hot season also the burning season did start with an Air Quality Index rising to 100 - 150. But in the hot season it is normal to have so called "summer storms", when hot air collides with cold air. The results are short lived storms with rain & thunder. Actually the rain is very much welcome in the hot season, it clears the dirty air of the burning season. And our garden (and the farmers) need some rain also. But since a week the weather changed a bit with first a 2 days very big summer storm with very strong wind and a lot of rain. I mean so much rain we could not see 1 meter further from the comfort of our living room. And now since 2 days we have again storm with strong winds, rain and thunder. That rain & thunder is most times in the afternoon and evening. And results most times also in a power cut, so no water supply for a shower or lights. And the forecast is that it will be like this the next few days. The El Nino effect?
The only good thing that comes from all this is that the air is clean again and that it is nice cool again. But after 2 days it is enough for me. Our dog is scared shit of thunder and is shaking like she almost has a heart attack. What again means sleepless nights for us.
