In October 2022 I was on one of my Getting Lost walking trips in Bangkok and passed a street where I saw the Bangkokian House Museum, an old wooden house as museum. And as I love old buildings and architecture I could not refuse the friendly invitation to have a look. The Bangkokian House Museum aims to present the way of life of mid-class people living in Bangkok in the Worl War II period. At a lush green garden between the high-rise buildings of Bangkok business district is the old family house of the ms. Sa-Ang Sarawadee. The house is an old wooden Thai style house with beautiful teak-wooden floors and the interior is fully decorated to reflect they way of living in the old days. Besides the main house there are 3 other houses on the compound that also function as museum. And while walking in de garden you do forget that you are in the middle of hectic Bangkok. When the last descend of the family died 5 years ago the house & land was donated to the government. Entrance is free and there are people working to guide you thru the museum if you want. For more information see : Bangkokian Museum. Following are photos I made, click on the photos to enlarge.
