Shanghai Mansion is a not so ordinary hotel in the heart of Chinatown in Bangkok, located right along Yaowaraj Road (the main strip of Chinatown). As the name suggest this elegant hotel is designed & decorated in 1930's Shanghai / Chinese style. In August 2023 I had a grand tour of this award-winning boutique hotel. And I loved it!
On the ground floor you will find the pub & restaurant to enjoy indoor tranquility or outdoor street-life. Serving delicious food and cocktails. Behind the pub & restaurant you will find the somewhat dark and artistically decorated lobby. Going upstairs (elevator or classic retro designed stairs) you will find the rooms in a tranquility of peace.
Highly recommended if you like to stay in a bit different hotel and if you like to stay in Chinatown. But there are a few things to mention. First of all Shanghai Mansion does not have a swimming pool and be aware that none of the rooms have a window for a view. And the superior rooms are somewhat on the not so spacious side, what is also emphasizes by the big furniture. If staying here I would suggest to stay in a Deluxe Room or Suite Room.
