Day-trip to the mountains of Doi Phu Ka in Nan

Road #3 in Doi Phu Ka in Nan province, North Thailand

Yesterday we made a day-trip to the mountains of Doi Phu Kha and Phu Fa. All within a easy drive from Non Na Pua Boutique Homestay. We took first route 1081 to Sila Phet and Ban Nam You. Then still route 1081 but now into the mountains in direction of Bo Klua. You are then passing some Thai famous viewpoints like Road #3 where it was busy. But also "I Love U", Road #0 en the "Snake Curve". All great places for selfies. When driving down to the valley of Bo Klua we first had a hot coco at a lovely Japanese style coffee shop and then took route 1333 to Ban Sop Mang and area of Phu Fa. At village is where the Mang River merges with the Wa River. This is a spot famous for starting Wild Water Rafting in the Wa River. It is a beautiful area, but not in fashion with tourists so all accommodation, restaurants and coffee shops you see mentioned on Google Maps are actually closed and some look in such a dispair that they will probably never open again.
