I love architecture and old house and the Grand Old Lady of Phayao already had my interest when I did visit Phayao in 2001. Actually the name of this beautiful old house is Suthaphat House and it was build around 1922. When I saw this house the first time it was an old broken house in dispair, not even a shadow of the grandeur that once must have been the appearance of this teak-wooden house.
In 2016 I did find a web-site with photos that I assume are photos of the renovation of The Grand Old Lady of Phayao. I tried to contact the web-site owner to ask permission but I did not hear anything. So here are some photos from the inside of what I think is the Suthaphat House in Phayao. I did write already something about the beautiful old house, have a look at The Grand Old Lady of Phayao. When visiting this location be aware that it is private property and normally not open to the public. Entering the house would be trespassing!
