Visiting Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai

Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain of Thailand, with a top of 2565m high. The mountain range is located about 90 km south-west of Chiang Mai city. Due to its height it is always cool and fresh / green. The mountain range is also home to Karen hill-tribes and nowadays coffee plantations that produce a fine arabica coffee. Of course there are many waterfalls and wonderful hiking trails. As Doi Inthanon is high it is also colder, yes no snow but still. When I were there it was 8℃ at 6:00am in the morning and at 13:00 in the afternoon it was 14℃. While a hour before I left Chiang Mai city where it was about 38℃! I did visit 3 waterfalls and although it has not been raining for about 3 months there was still a lot of water at the waterfalls. So when you are in Chiang Mai a visit to Doi Inthanon is highly recommended!
