In 2018 I returned for the first time to the Tongsai Bay since I was there in 1999. I was thinking that I would find a totally changed Tongsai Bay. But not much has changed actually, except that it is even more green (more trees) as it already was. Yes of course the rooms and buildings have been updated to the demands of nowadays. But for the rest it is still the as always delightful and tranquil The Tongsai Bay under professional management by the family Hoorntrakul. The Tongsai Bay lies amid a lush green jungle on the north-east side of the tropical island Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, with a more or less private beach. Hidden far away from the nowadays so busy Koh Samui and once you enter the green jungle of The Tongsai Bay it feels like you are entering another world. A world of comfort and luxury, while at the same time trying to make as less as possible negative impact on our environment.
I enjoyed my delicious lunch and the friendly service at the poolside restaurant. One of the things I liked was that without noticing it at first my cocktail did not have a plastic straw but a natural straw made from herbs. And I was told by the the management that they do not use plastic bottles. Or chemicals in the garden. Although there seems to still be working some staff from the time that I was there I had no time to see them. But I will come back someday and have a taste of the wonderful hospitality of The Tongsai Bay. For more information have a look at their website
