We traveled to Chanthaburi and as we did not plan our trip to the beaches of Chantaburi at all we also did not make a hotel reservation. So I had a look at Google Maps to find hotels while driving along Hat Chaolao. You will notice that there are many older hotels and that is where Sand Dunes Chaolao Beach Resort did stand out with a new sign along the road and with a new looking building. So we did drive in and were friendly greeted at the lobby. Efficient welcome at the front desk and what more no expensive walk-in prices. As a matter a fact the prices were lower as on their own website or any hotel bookings website. This hotel has a front main building with 4 or 5 floors for the superior rooms and 2 beach side wings for the Deluxe rooms. The ground-floor Deluxe rooms have swimming pool access. The rooms with the best view are the Deluxe-wing beach-side at the 3th or 4th floor. But we had a Deluxe room with partial sea-view. Our room was good size, had private balcony and a good bathroom (shower only). Of course the room has everything you need like TV, Airco, Fridge and even an TV in the bathroom. But no in-room safe. The beach at this part of Hat Chaolao is lovely for a walk in the early morning or at sunset.
The hotel offers a beach-side restaurant for lunch & dinner, infinity beach-side swimming pool, fitness, free private & covered parking, free in-room wifi and a huge international breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly, service minded and speaks English.
Summery : Highly recommended and good value for money.
