I made a motorbike trip in North Thailand and did stay 1 night in Phayao. Normally I would like to stay right along the beautiful lake of Phayao. But my favourite 2 hotels had raised prices and a third one did look very old. So on recommendation of another motorbike rider I did stay at Baan Ma Grood Hotel. It is a brand new looking small apartment style hotel with 14 big rooms with a bit small bathroom. Of course all rooms have private bathroom with shower, TV, air-conditioning, free drinking water and free Wifi. The hotel has limited parking on private grounds but I could park my motorbike right in front of my room. And that all for only 490 baht! OK it is about 1.100 meter to the promenade along Kwan Phayao. But also conveniently located right behind the bus-station with a 7-11 and restaurants nearby.
