It was the 15th day of the 11th waxing moon and this marks the end of the 3 months lent of monks. It is also more or less marks the end of the raining season. This will be celebrated in the early morning at every temple in Thailand. And as my wife is Buddhist she wants to join this at our local temple where the all village will gather together. For my wife this means that she wake's up at 4 o'clock in the early morning and starts cooking the food that we will give to the monks. Finally at about 6:00 am we go to the temple where we first give the food to the monks. This is not done directly but the food is put in different big bowls, for each monk a bowl. As there is a lot of food on a special day like this there will be much too much food for 1 day or even for all the other monks.
