I did take the train from Bangkok to Mae Klong and this train ride did starts at Wong Yai train station in Bangkok. I love traveling by train, especially in Thailand where it is like traveling in time. It is like an open-air museum. Not only the trains itself but also the train stations. They look like they have not changed since they build the first railroad lines in Thailand in 1889. Click on the label Train Market to see all postings about going to the famous train market.
Along the single track railroad from Wong Yai to Maha Chai are many so called train stations but most did not have any buildings. But at Rang Pho (still in Bangkok) there was a lovely old style station building, even with a waiting area.
This travelogue follows my traveling in Thailand (and beyond) with in between information that might help you when traveling in Thailand.
