I love riding in the mountains of North Thailand and as the mountains of Doi Phu Kha in Nan province are at my front door I go there many times. So following a few photos I made in the past weeks of November 2022.
Photo above shows the shaved mountains and one of the many small mountain villages. And all the people living there are indirectly work for CP and they are growing corn on the mountains. For that the trees are cut down and every year everything is burnt. This farmers are allowed to use the land but they do not own the land. So they do not make any long-term investments like planting teak trees. A perfect system to keep a feudale society alive. And when they start kicking you label them communists. Slowly the natural habitat of the mountains is destroyed and surprise surprise landslides do follow.
Photo under is a small river that cuts thru the the mountains and along this kind of rivers are small mountain villages as the water from the river is the only source of water. And of course fish. Last photo is sunrise at Viewpoint 1715 along route 1256 from Pua to Bo Klua. Click on the photos to enlarge.
