While riding motorbike in Northern Thailand I did ride route 1149 from Mae Sai to Doi Tung. This route goes along the Thai-Myanmar border. And it did become a famous route for the view and for the villages Ban Pha Mee and Ban Pha Hee. So of course along this route are homestay's (resorts) and coffee shops. I made a stop at Phamee Hill Coffee Shop & Homestay. And while enjoying my hot choco and brownie I had a most stunning view over de vista of Pha Mee. What a great view and what a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a drink! Highly recommended!
Besides a coffee shop Pha Mee Hill is also a homestay/resort with 4 rooms and 1 small house (for 4 persons). Not cheap but offering a very special experience. For more information see their facebook page : Pha Mee Hill
Be aware that route 1149 is a small mountain road and while going further to Doi Tung there are some very steep parts with very quick curves. Following are some photo's, click on them to enlarge.
