Ban Manipruek is group of Hmong & Tai Lue hill-tribe villages high in the mountains of Doi Phu Kha and is within Thung Chang district. Manipruek was formerly a famous area for poppy plantations but nowadays home to vegetable plantations. And slowly it also becomes a travel destination. It is a beautiful area and because of the isolated location not yet destroyed by modernisation. In this area you will also find a few caves and waterfalls. Be aware that the village Manipruek consists of 2 parts. Arriving at the Y junction at the Botanical Garden to the left is Manipruek 1 and to the right is Manipruek 2. The current villages are forced relocation villages.
